Julia is a seasoned professional skilled in dispute resolution, liaison, corporate advisory, and governance. She excels in resolving contractual and commercial disputes, liaising with various stakeholders, and advising Boards of Directors. Julia’s expertise also extends to knowledge management and business improvements. She’s known for instigating positive mindset, behavior, and culture changes that enhance work performance.

Currently, as the CEO of LegalKnights Consultancy Services, she provides efficient in-house legal services for various business groups in the New Energy sector. In her previous roles as the Director of the Energy Commission and senior legal counsel at Petronas, Julia led governance efforts and provided expert legal advice to protect PETRONAS’ interests and reputation.

Julia collaborates effectively with legal teams, clients, and opposing counsels on Gas & New Energy business matters.

Edmund Bon Tai Soon is in his 24th year practising as an advocate and solicitor
in Malaysia. He served as Malaysia’s representative to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on
Human Rights (AICHR) in the years of 2016, 2017 and 2018. He co-founded two non- governmental organisations – the Malaysian Centre for Constitutionalism & Human Rights (MCCHR) and the Collective of Applied

Law & Legal Realism (CALR) – and a legal blawg, LoyarBurok. He is pursuing a doctorate in human rights and peace at the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP), Mahidol University, Thailand. He also chairs the Malaysia National Working Group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism.

Farhan Ashraq is a Cardiff University law graduate (LLB) with broad experience in legal, secretarial, and litigation matters. He is committed to helping organisations navigate legal and regulatory landscapes, mitigate risks, and strengthen governance.

He has served in key legal and commercial roles across multiple sectors, including oil & gas, energy, and logistics. His past positions include Senior Legal Counsel at Pengerang Refining & Petrochemical, Senior Manager – Legal & Company Secretarial at Port of Tanjung Pelepas, and roles within Petronas group companies. At Velesto Energy, he advised the Tender Committee and Board on legal, commercial, and technical matters.

Farhan’s expertise includes contract management, legal advisory, regulatory compliance, and company secretarial support. He takes a practical, business-focused approach to legal counsel, aiming to enable operational efficiency while safeguarding the organisation’s interests.

Umi Kalsom Othman is a seasoned professional with over 33 years of experience in the energy and utilities sector. She has held various senior management positions, including Senior Vice President, Group Training & Development and Senior Vice President, Integration & Development at Edra Power Holdings Sdn. Bhd, a subsidiary of China General Nuclear Power Corporation. Umi’s expertise encompasses Corporate Strategy and Planning, Project Management, Human Resource Management, Human Capital Development, Change Management, and Power Plant Technical Compliance. She has also been a member of various high-impact working committees and has attended numerous leadership and management programs. Prior to Edra, Umi worked 28 years at Tenaga Nasional Berhad in various capacities and in different divisions. Umi holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Hartford, Connecticut USA. She is registered as an Affiliate with the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM) and currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director for Mentiga Corporation Berhad.

Dr. Noorfajri Ismail is an experienced legal expert in criminal and civil law with over 14 years of experience. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Dispute Resolution and administration of justice at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), and previously worked as a Senior Associate in Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group at Messrs. Azmi & Associates. Dr. Noorfajri has also served as a judicial officer and studied judicial and coroner’s practices at the Greater Manchester Crown Court in the UK.

Dr. Noorfajri holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Masters of Laws (LL.M) from National University of Malaysia (UKM) and a Doctorate of Law (Ph.D) on the Administration of Criminal Justice from University of Malaya (UM). He is an Accredited Construction Adjudicator and Panel of Adjudicators of AIAC, and has expertise in alternative dispute resolution and the judicial system.

Dr. Noorfajri has published various articles on criminal justice and dispute resolution in the construction industry, and previously served as a member of the Editorial Board for Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia (CIDB) Construction Law Report 2020 (Edition 2021).

Ummar is a dedicated and result-oriented individual with a multitalented background in communication. Experienced in digital marketing, communications, and event management with a strong skill set in strategic marketing communication and development. Proven ability to prepare business projections, generate leads, and develop sales strategies while handling client complaints, demands, and inquiries. Skilled in managing relationships with stakeholders and clients while working closely with agencies. Experienced in overseeing marketing budgets and expenses and evaluating and reviewing marketing campaigns to ensure effective use of mediums. Proficient in event coordination, managing projects, preparing stakeholder insights and reports, and handling corporate events.

Dr. Aida Maria Ismail is an accomplished Associate Professor at the Faculty of Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Selangor. With a diverse range of roles and responsibilities, she has made significant contributions in research management, industry linkages, innovation, and leadership. As a Research Management Coordinator, she oversees research, publication, consultation, and innovation activities while promoting collaborations with industry, community, and alumni. In her previous roles as a Research Fellow and Deputy Dean, she played pivotal roles in fostering internationalization, facilitating industry partnerships, and providing leadership within the Faculty. Dr. Aida Maria Ismail’s expertise and dedication have greatly influenced the advancement of research initiatives and the overall development of the academic community.

Muzzil Khairat, a seasoned legal and compliance professional with 15+ years of global experience, holds key roles in state-owned enterprises and multinational corporations. His expertise spans high-risk sectors like oil and gas, engineering, finance, insurance, and manufacturing, showcasing his adaptability. Certified in Governance, Risk, and Compliance, Muzzil excels in diverse legal areas, including anti-bribery & corruption, sanctions, privacy, and competition law. He designs compliance programs, manages risks, conducts investigations, and more. Notably, Muzzil co-founded Petronas’ global compliance program, earning Transparency International recognition. He’s a sought-after speaker at global legal and compliance events, enhancing industry understanding. Muzzil’s education includes an undergraduate degree from IIUM and postgraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Wharton School. With his robust background and cross-sector experience, he’s well-equipped for complex compliance and risk management in diverse sectors.

As a multi-disciplinary designer with over 15 years of experience, Lokman possesses a diverse skill set including digital strategy, web design, project management, and photography. He has worked with various clients in the past, such as Wahed Invest, CyberSecurity Malaysia, SiberKASA, Kraftangan Malaysia, ZALORA, Yamaha, and Axiata.

Currently, as a freelance UX designer and researcher, Lokman is responsible for conducting user research and developing brand messaging proposals for Malaysia’s first digital takaful insure-tech start-up. He has extensive experience in industry research, UX research, and interviews. He also has experience working on projects that require a combination of discovery workshops, UI research and design, and strategies, such as working with a nation’s cybersecurity authority on firm-wide product strategy and building a platform for cybersecurity experts to exchange ideas and expertise.

Badrul Hisham Ismail is an accomplished corporate investment leader with 25 years of experience marked by transparency, adaptability, and robust relationship-building skills. Holding an MBA from UPM and a BA (Hons) in Accounting from the University of Portsmouth, Badrul excels in portfolio management, development finance, investment research, and asset allocation. His expertise extends to financial modeling, team leadership, cross-border funding, and credit analysis. Notably, during his tenure as a Consultant at The Saudi Agricultural Development Fund (ADF), Riyadh, he secured SAR 0.9 billion in cross-border project funding, contributing to food security initiatives, and authored articles on global platforms. As a Senior Manager at Malaysian Kuwaiti Investment Co. Sdn Bhd, he successfully led initiatives spanning high-value vegetable farming, biotechnology investments, property development, and poultry farming, while orchestrating the turnaround of distressed companies. Badrul Hisham Ismail is an influential figure in corporate investment, renowned for his ability to drive strategic growth in diverse financial landscapes.

OOI CHEE KWANG’s adaptable nature and willingness to learn make him a valuable asset in various technical situations. OOI CHEE KWANG holds a Certificate in Civil Engineering, a B. Eng. (Hons.) in Civil Engineering, and a Master of Project Management (MPM) degree. In his previous role as Project Director at L. T. INDUSTRIES SDN. BHD., he successfully coordinated and supervised a diverse range of development projects.

Ahmad Aisar, a diligent and enthusiastic individual, has achieved remarkable success in his academic pursuits. He completed his Diploma in Communication at Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (UIS). Ahmad Aisar has graduated from UIS and attained his degree in Bachelor of Communication (Honour) Broadcasting.

Ahmad Aisar’s thirst for practical experience led him to secure an internship opportunity at TV AlHijrah, a renowned broadcasting network. During his tenure as an intern, he worked diligently as an editor, contributing to the creation of high-quality content for television programming. This hands-on experience provided him with valuable insights into the industry, enhanced his technical abilities, and further ignited his passion for the world of broadcasting.
